Sweet Song and Top-Notch Animation

Excellent job all around! I've watched this over a dozen times and will likely watch it at least a dozen more. The song itself is catchy, witty, and pretty damn funny. I will say the sound production was a LITTLE weak. Where's the interscope funding (or maybe they did ATD like they do dredg...)???

Anywho, not too important. The weaknesses in sound production are more than made up for by the song itself, and the animation that goes with it. Reminded me a bit of the stars wars gangsta rap production. Not so much in the style of drawing, but in the fact there is lots of camera movement and animation that's all blended in VERY well. Not too distracting, but enough to make the entire video feel fluid and entertaining.

Great job!

hahaha funny as shit

great idea, im almost surprised no one has done something like this yet. i think you have done a pretty good job of speaking for everyone who visits any site that includes those obnoxious ads for useless shit. great job with the song and graphics - very creative!

didn't find this funny at all...

the animations were colorful, cartoony, and smooth. you definately have your own style which is great to see on newgrounds. the voice for the main guy was solid, but the chubbalub or whatever sounded pretty bad. the quality seemed worse, and the voice/voice acting didn't fit at all. that probably didn't help with the fact that the cartoon had no actual jokes in it. the only things that were supposed to be funny were a. thing throws rock at guy and he doesn't know where's throwing them from even though it's obvious, and b. chubbalub insists he's not who is actually is. you can't have good situational humor without really good voice actors - and even then you really need to come up with some SLIGHTLY more creative situations. this is a storyboard a 3rd grader could come up with. i know it's not some full length cartoon, but this is pointless. the effort put into the idea/script is a joke compared to the work put into the art and animation.

this would be great if it were funny

all the animations and graphics were really well done. a big improvement over the last decline. the half-assed storyline with the family guy flashbacks does actually work well for a basis for a funny animation.

unfortunetly, this isn't funny. i cannot understand how this is in the top 50. i didn't laugh one single time. i like video games, i like random humor...this isn't funny! im guessing not many people will agree with me, but im not sure why. maybe it's because i don't play video games all the time like i used to? i don't know. i found everything in this RIDICOUSLY predictable. haha samus is gonna lose her powerups because she does everygame it's FUNNYCUZIT'STRUE! not always - not if you don't tell it right.

this might be funny for 14 year olds whose lives revolve ENTIRELY around video games and are dumb enough to not see any of this coming, but this was a complete waste of my time.

(thats pretty much what we're going for!)

good start, too many inconsistencies

the story was adequate enough to support some good fight scenes (whcih is all you need for this). it was a bit bland and unoriginal, but not annoyingly so.

the graphics were quite nice for the most part. the character animations and the demon fighting the main guy in the town certainly worked well. however, the strange use of some textures (one big example being the stone passageway) did NOT work well. it just looked awkward with the otherwise cartoony graphics.also, the design of the town itself was very strange. a bunch of 3-window-long towers with absolutely nothing inside? it looked more like some ancient monument - which is what i originally thought it was supposed to be.

the worst part about this was the sound. the sound effects were questionably chosen and not mixed in well. the brake-screeching was annoying and didn't fit, as did other sound effects in the fight scene. the dialog was EXTREMELY bland and predictable, which ultimately makes the characters bland and uninteresting. the voice acting for the main character was good, but was very lacking with the demon and the ?girl? who was introduced later.

the action sequence was definately the highlight of this animation. perk up the graphics and do a big rehaul on dialog (maybe even find a friend who's a good writer, good dialog isn't easy to write). cleaning up the differetn aspects of this could really make for an inspiring series. also - i loved the style and design of the demon .

informative but hard to sit through

the flash was, as most other people have mentioned, very informative. the info you gave was relevant and unknown to most people, which is always great to hear about.

however, the presentation was lacking. the overall structure was organized in a fairly straightforward chronological manner, but it seemed to skip around a little bit. what bothered me most however, was the sound. not only was the quality bad, but the narration was hard to sit through. it sounded like the narrator was trying to sound like he had a deep, "intelligent" sounding voice, and it became very uneven at parts. additionally, the interjections made by the cartoon character were simply annoying, seldomly funny. you can be entertaining and informative at the same time without having to throw simple humor in every 5 lines - information ITSELF can be interesting and humorous. especially when dealing with animation and cartoons. throw in more random facts about the people you're doing that might be funny rather than your cartoon guy going "BORING! what's NEXT??"

the art YOU made was decent and fit in well. although, imo, gradient backgrounds look kind of cheesy when used in excess.

Yes, all valid points, in future cartoons I'll be sure to write it in more than a day's time.

laughed all the way through

short, sweet, and a-ha nostalgic. i loved weebl and bob when i first heard about it (the time when the weird art one was the newest i think), and it's been a little lacking for awhile. but this definately had me laughing out loud.

i think you're the only flash artist who's consistently unafraid of singing in their own flash animations - and the music always sets you apart. great job.

classic firth storytelling with style

the story is a bit weird - even for dave firth. coudln't quite tell if it was supposed to be funny or interesting, it was just kind of mildly both. innovative, as usual, however.

loved the art direction. i was glad to see a change from all of the dull-colored blocks everywhere. the backgrounds and character animations were both innovative and appealing - especially the talking animations. always great to see a good flash artist expand his territory a bit.

admittedly, this did make me crave nachos with all the orange, nacho-cheese colored backgrounds. although i am pretty hungry.
